Somerset kids in spud challenge
1:00pm Saturday 28th January 2012

YOUNGSTERS from across Somerset are being challenged to create weird and wonderful creatures... from potatoes.
Staff at Taunton Garden Centre are hosting the competition as part of their Grow Your Own Potatoes Weekend, which takes place on February 18 and 19.
Gary Blagdon, Manager of the garden centre on Pen Elm Hill in Norton Fitzwarren, said: “It is a fun idea and we hope as many youngsters as possible enter.
"The models will be on display at the garden centre and we will choose the winner. “We don’t have any hard and fast rules but we are looking for some really creative and fun models.”
Children aged from four to 11 can enter and entry forms are available from centre.
The closing date for entries is 12noon on Sunday, February 19.
